Eliza's hair cut

My little Eliza is growing up. Her Daddy took her to get her hair cut. It looks so cute on her but I can't believe how grown up it makes her look.

When we were taking photos of Eliza's hair Trigger decided he wanted his photo taken too since he is growing up also..

If you are taking a photo of Trigger you have to take a photo of Eliza's bike because Trigger loves going for a run along side Eliza as she rides it.

2009 brought some sad goodbyes as well as a wonderful new beginning. Both of our dogs died. Lady and Babs where so loved and such a wonderful part of our lives. We really miss them. Then on Christmas day my cat Penelope crawled underneath the house and passed away. I was always really protective of her because she had brain damage and so she had a hard time. She was very loving and always wanted to cuddle.I really don't know what caused her death but I really wish she hadn't died alone. I wish I had been able to hold her and tell her I loved her.

But Christmas also brought a new baby to our home. He is the cute, sweetest, ball of energy. After losing two dogs I was debating if I was ready for another dog, but I started looking just in case. I went to the pound, the humane society, and put the word out that I was looking. I saw LOTS of really cute dog, but none seemed "just right" That was until I met Trigger. He is a husky/lab mix like Babs was but he doesn't look at all like her. He is working on house training now and is catching on really good. He is friendly and loves everyone. He loves to chew (what puppy doesn't) and always want to be involved with whatever we are doing. We are in love with him! I feel like he is a gift from God to our family.

Missing Babs

Babs died Monday. We took her to the vet after she became really weak and started having a hard time breathing. We found out she was in the late stages of heart failure. The vet said she had probably been sick for at least a year. She would get tired when Samuel would take her running, but then she would rest and do better. We never had any idea that she was sick and we would have never guessed she was dieing. Now knowing how sick she was I marvel and am so grateful for the unconditional love she gave Samuel.

She would never fail to meet him at the door, greet him with lots of kisses as she wagged not only her tail but her whole body to show her excitement to be with him. She was excited to go running with him and never showed hesitation, even though unbeknown to us it must have been hard for her sometimes. She spent every moment she could with Samuel, and he spent every moment he could with her. They were truly inseparable. She would wake up next to him, They would eat together, She was by his side as he did his homework and they would watch T.V together. She was always full of Joy when she was with him despite being sick.Samuel and Babs were the best of friends, I will always love her for what she gave to Samuel.

I just wish they could have had more time together.I wish we all could have had more time with her. She was, and is greatly loved.

The new addition to our family

As a lot of you already know Samuel has dogie sat for our Friends dog every summer for the last three years. Samuel and Babs are the best of friends. I have never seen a closer bond between a boy and a dog. They truly love each other. Since our Friend has an allergy to the thick fur of Babs she has to live in a canal outside.(Babs not our Friend) That is until we dogie sit. Then we bring her to the house and she lives in our home with us. Our Friend knew how close Samuel and Babs are so she decided to give Samuel Babs to keep.It was so sad when our shelty, Lady died and it feels good to have a dog in the house again. Babs has been such a great addition to our family and a wonderful Friend to Samuel.

Doggie sitting

Hot diggity dog diggatie we are all dog sitting. This is the second summer Samuel has dog sat for our friends. The kids love Babs. Especially Samuel. He walks her every day, plays with her and she sleeps in his room with him. She is very well behaved and is a perfect guest. This summer Babs has to share the daily spoiling with another Friends dog Rascal, a 4 month old shelty. Eliza is dogie sitting Rascal's and doing a great job. Rascal is still working on potty training ( oh I thought those days where over )Eliza is so good at watching her and rushing her out at the first sign of a dribble. She has only had one oops, so that is pretty good. Both dogs have been so spoiled. I am so proud of how responsible and loving Samuel and Eliza are caring for these cute sweet dog.
