Award assemlies

With the end of the school year fast approaching comes the music concert art shows and award assemblies. It so fun to see all the accomplishments the kids make through the year. Both Samuel and Eliza are very talented artists. Samuel took on a new medium this year, stained glass. He picked a very hard piece to try for his first attempt . He did an amazing job
He also is very talented at pencil drawings. Mrs Hardy wants him to use there pieces for a profolio

Eliza won several art awards for her art. This is the same art competitions Samuel won last year and now Eliza won it. I think we set a president.

Eliza also got several awards at the academic award assembly.

Eliza got a Physical science award, art award,English  academic excellence award, Mathematics award, and of course Honor roll all four quarters. Eliza is also number one in her class. The awards were giving out by each individual teacher who picked a student that excelled in their class had leadership and worked hard. I am so proud of both Samuel and Eliza for how well they do in school, but even more them that the kind of people they are.

This is Eliza before the award assembly. Samuel was at work so I wasn't able to get a photo of him. He is such a hard working kid.

When a boy gets his first Car ( truck)

Samuel and his Truck. I'm so proud of him.

There is mile stones in every boys life. and one of biggest is his first car. He dreams about it from the first time he pushes his hot wheels across the kitchen floor and lines them up with pride,to when he is standing at the DMV registering his first car in his name. He will remember it and talk about it with pride to his grandchildren. Samuel has reached that mile stone. We don't buy our kids cars. They have to buy it themselves. They also have to pay for their own insurance once they have a car also. This makes there first car really their own. Samuel has been saving his money, and planning for this day. He was able to pay cash for for a silver dodge ram. It really fits Samuel's personality. I am so proud of him. I want him to always remember this day with pride. I want him to know that if he works hard, plans and dreams he can feel the joy and satisfaction of  accomplishing his goals.

Growing up and moving on

Next year when school starts I will no longer have any children in elementary school. Samuel graduated from Jr high and will be going into high school , and Eliza will be making the big jump to Jr high. We saw Ed, Our children's bus driver at Samuel's graduation and realized he will no longer be stopping in front of our home anymore. We will really miss him. The Jr high and High school is practically in our back yard so the kids walk ( yes they are in the same building) We thanked him of all he has done for our kids and prepared ourselves for a new chapter in our lives. I love and Cherish the memories we have made as the children have grown. I also love watching them grow and develop their gifts and potential. Congratulation Samuel and Eliza! You make me so proud, and feel so blessed to be your mother!

Samuele's school put on the play "Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood" It was really cute and everyone did a great job. Samuel was part of the awesome stage crew. ( lets admit it without them the whole play would be in the dark) He ran the big spot light at the back of the auditorium. Samuel said it was the best job. He got to watch the play and run the lights. Great job kids. It was a fun night.

Missing Babs

Babs died Monday. We took her to the vet after she became really weak and started having a hard time breathing. We found out she was in the late stages of heart failure. The vet said she had probably been sick for at least a year. She would get tired when Samuel would take her running, but then she would rest and do better. We never had any idea that she was sick and we would have never guessed she was dieing. Now knowing how sick she was I marvel and am so grateful for the unconditional love she gave Samuel.

She would never fail to meet him at the door, greet him with lots of kisses as she wagged not only her tail but her whole body to show her excitement to be with him. She was excited to go running with him and never showed hesitation, even though unbeknown to us it must have been hard for her sometimes. She spent every moment she could with Samuel, and he spent every moment he could with her. They were truly inseparable. She would wake up next to him, They would eat together, She was by his side as he did his homework and they would watch T.V together. She was always full of Joy when she was with him despite being sick.Samuel and Babs were the best of friends, I will always love her for what she gave to Samuel.

I just wish they could have had more time together.I wish we all could have had more time with her. She was, and is greatly loved.

The new addition to our family

As a lot of you already know Samuel has dogie sat for our Friends dog every summer for the last three years. Samuel and Babs are the best of friends. I have never seen a closer bond between a boy and a dog. They truly love each other. Since our Friend has an allergy to the thick fur of Babs she has to live in a canal outside.(Babs not our Friend) That is until we dogie sit. Then we bring her to the house and she lives in our home with us. Our Friend knew how close Samuel and Babs are so she decided to give Samuel Babs to keep.It was so sad when our shelty, Lady died and it feels good to have a dog in the house again. Babs has been such a great addition to our family and a wonderful Friend to Samuel.
