How do I know?

Eliza came home from school today and was telling me that in their English class they are learning about persuasion. Her Teacher picked some controversial subjects then had the students stand in a group that was pro, con or undecided . She then tried to persuade them to move to another group. She picked topics like same sex marriage and legalizing marijuana.
Eliza started out standing in the group that was against legalizing marijuana. As the Teacher started talking about the benefits of marijuana for medical reasons the students started going over to the pro side. Soon Eliza was standing by her self on the con side.
As we talked about it She asked if she was wrong. she said she felt like legalizing marijuana was wrong but she couldn't say why she felt that way. All the reasons for legalizing it sounded good and made a lot of sense but she felt like her decision to stay on the con side was still right. She ask " was I right ? " The others wanted her to explain her position but she said she couldn't but she she felt confident about her stand.

I told Eliza that the reason she felt the way she did is because of the Holey Ghost. As others try to persuade us, some times ( well actually most of the time.) they don't give you ALL the information. Sometimes this is a way to deceive us and sometimes it is just that they themselves don't know all the information. Sometimes theses people can be very convincing in there information. Even If we don't have the answers ourselves, we can still stand strong even when we can't explain why, if we do what the Holy Ghost prompts us to. As we get better at listening to and following the promptings of the Holy Ghost he will then put the words in our mouth and thoughts in our minds when we need them. I was so grateful for this opportunity

to talk with Eliza about standing for what she feels is right even when she can't explain the reason why in words.
